Diving - Sterling at it again
just watching MOtD 2

Sterling blatant dive in the opening minutes of the Liverpool Man City game.

Will it go unpunished? Of course it will

Did it lead to a goalscoring incident or a Red Card? Believe that is the only time punishment can incur.

Dealcanvey

thanks I didnt know that. So players only get punished for successful attempts to con the ref. I suppose unsuccessful attempts should be dealt with by a yellow card.

Still dont agree that this will stamp out diving, it just encourages better diving!

More importantly, why the fuck does Sterlings arse stick out so far when he's running. Freak!

After all the dives I've seen this season I am baffled as to how we are the only side punished.

It's not as though ours was the worst, and there was clear contact.

We aren't the only side that's been punished since the rule came into force.

Although we're not the only ones to get punished, we're one of the few of many - so many that it's paranoia-inducing

if that deliberate hand ball goal for Watford goes unpunished then its a farce.

Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
It's bizarre that a player can be banned retrospectively for diving to win a penalty but there's nothing that can be done to punish someone who simulates a goal by punching it in with his hand while to pretending to head it.

The whole simulation crackdown is a good concept but unfortunately it is left to those clowns at the FA to implement.

The Watford handball goal was so obvious I can't believe the officials didn't spot it. I sometimes wonder what they are watching because it certainly isn't the game. Mind you, some linos do spot offside and handball and the numpty f**kwit of a ref overrules them anyway.

2 more blatent dives vs Leicester on Saturday. Still no cards, no retrospective punishments, not even a comment on MOTD.

Just proves that the FA aren't serious about cutting out diving....at least not where the top teams are concerned

Dolittle,

You'd have had a couple of posters from another long running thread salivating at the title until they clicked and saw you were talking about Raheem!

No action taken against Kane so why would it surprise anyone that no action is taken against Stirling

Bernie 12:58 Mon Feb 12
Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
I cannot believe the kane one wasn't even sent to the panel to decide whether it was a dive or not, it was clearly a dive and led to a penalty.

It's disgusting that the rule has been implemented and only a handful of decisions have been looked at, diving is still going on every week in almost every game so clearly this new regulation isn't working at all.

Kane is a media darling, there is no way anyone was going to accuse him of diving. What he did was absolutely no different to Lanzini . The whole process is a disgrace and a farce

Really? He's doing well hiding it, what with having all those kids with different birds.

I know you have to distance your officials and governing body somewhat but I would really like someone to be able to sit down and directly question what the difference between the Lanzini one and a host of similar incidences since.

I said Lanzini dived and should take his punishment if it meant that there was an actual change in policy. Sadly this is what I expected.

Eddie B 1:22 Mon Feb 12
Re: Diving - Sterling at it again
How was Lanzini's dive any worse than Kane's against Liverpool?

Oh no silly me. Lanzini isn't England's main striker. Apologies.
